Jokers 52 - Young at Heart 48

The Jokers beat the defending champions, Young at Heart, to remain undefeated at 2-0.  After a very slow 1st half that had the Jokers up 18-12 during halftime, both teams stepped up their games during the 2nd half.  It was until halfway through the 2nd half that the Jokers went on a 16-2 scoring surge and had the defending champs against the ropes.  With a double digit lead dwindling down with 4 minutes remaining, Young at Heart capitalized on missed free throws and unforced turnovers.  With less than a minute remaining the lead had been cut down to 2 before the Jokers stepped up their defensive intensity and eventually held on to the win.  Next game is Sunday, September 7th.

Jabbawockees 42 - Haymakers 81

The Jabbawockees received a reality check as they got romped 42-81 by the #1 contender, Haymakers.  Depending on how the league will determine who will be the champion, both teams split the series 1-1.  With only 4 games remaining, the Jabbawockees look to bounce back from the loss and begin another winning streak.

Quarterfinals:

Fines/Thornrose vs. Hurst/Shultz

Final Score: 6-1, 6-3

Recap: Fines/Thornros took the 1st set by outhustling Hurst/Shultz.  2nd set was a breeze although a little out of control due to the amount of riskier shots taken by Fines/Thornros.
