Finally
woke about 12PM to a mini hangover. I asked Kev if he was alright and
he said he was still drunk. Jaq seemed alright. It was still windy and
raining pretty hard when we got outside. We ended up going to the supermarket
(named: Discount Store Jason) to get some last minute goodies and souveniers,
then headed out to this restaurant/cafeteria for our final luncheon.
This place was pretty good considering it was a cafeteria type restaurant:
just pick and choose.
Heading back to Kev's house made me
realize how much I liked Japan and how much I will miss its culture.
There is still a lot of things I want to explore in Japan: Okinawa,
Osaka, Hiroshima.... just to name a few. As we strolled out of Kev's
house and into the station, Jaq realized he had lost his wallet. I knew
our trip wouldn't end without a bang....which was pretty much how our
whole trip went: Full of surprises and lots of adventure. After making
a quick timely decision of either to go back to the station, restaurant
or Kev's house, Jaq decided just to leave without it. Luckily he still
had his passport and his money on him. Besides, if I were to pick a
place to lose my wallet it would be in Japan. Unfortuneately, Kev wasn't
able to retrieve the wallet from either of the places Jaq could have
left it at. We got to the airport just in time; however, the plane didn't
depart til about 25 minutes after it was scheduled to.
We left Japan about 6 PM, Sunday,
January 16th. The plane ride was cool until the last 2 1/2 hours where
turbulence was pretty bad. I was able to get at least 5 hours of shut
eye on the plane. We finally arrived in Los Angeles Airport at 10:15AM,
Sunday, January 16th. The one and only Tram picked us up from the airport.
Kev had said that we were the only ones out of the 5 groups of friends/family
that visited him since he's been there, to have done so many things
in so little time. Next time I travel to Japan I would definitely need
about 2 weeks and a lil more cash flow wouldn't hurt. Japan was a great
experience for me and it made me look at the world and the country that
I live in, in a different way. Life is too short to stay in one place.
In order to live life, you have to be open to a lot of things and be
open to experience different cultures. Who knows which country I will
try to visit next......we'll see.
