November 19, 2005: Just updated the whole Picturespage section!! Check it out! No more broken links and less clicks to get to where you want! I will be working on the Sportspage section soon...stay tuned! November 18, 2005: Not too much going on lately. Had the garage sale at Jay's house last Sunday. It was somewhat successful. We got rid of most of our furniture. However, we couldn't sell our couch. Not sure if we were just asking for too much or if it was just bad advertising. We'll try to have another garage sale after winter. As for sports, I ended up joining a basketball league in Davis on Thursday nights. Its pretty cool although the foul rules are out of wack. Anyway, we're 0-2. Check out the League Update tab for more info. I'm also planning on joining an outdoor soccer league on Sundays. I'll keep you updated on that when I get more info. I'm looking for basketball players for a league out in Mather on Wednesday nights!! If you're interested, give me an email. The league begins January 4th and I will need to turn in the roster during mid December. I updated the pictures for the Virginia Beach trip. Check them out here. November 9, 2005: I think I'm finally settled here in Sac. Its pretty tough trying to fit all that you had in a big apartment into one small room. Didn't have the garage sale this past weekend because the weather peeps said it was supposed to rain. They were wrong and it seems like they're always wrong when it comes to forecasting the weather. We're gonna try for this weekend. As for other news... Rosanna and Chris are engaged!! That was a cool surprise! Ended up going to a Moroccan restaurant near Arden. It was very entertaining. They actually had belly dancers perform. Afterwards, we ended up at our favorite late night dessert place...Leatherbye's. Tram was offered a job to teach English Language Learning adults at a school about a block away. How lucky is that?! I accepted a job offer from HealthNet, so I start work again next Tuesday. Had fun during my break though. Sleepin in til 9am or 10am sometimes, stayin up late til 2am... gonna miss it!! Gotta pay the bills though. Congrats again to Rosey and Chris!! November 1, 2005: Finally finished unpacking the last of my moving boxes. Moving is pretty hectic. Why is it that it takes 3x longer to load a Uhaul than it takes to unload a Uhaul? Its really not supposed to take that much longer is it? Anyway, the trip back up was really nerve-wrecking. Woke up at 6AM on Friday to get the Uhaul, only to discover that Uhaul had given me the wrong center to pick up my truck. So I had to drive from Point Loma to El Cajon (~10 miles) in Friday morning traffic. I get to the center and its a mom n' pops gasoline shop. There was only one man behind the counter so I had to wait countless times for him to ring someone up for gas. On top of that he didn't know how to input my reservation! So he ended up charging me a completely different amount (~$75+) than what my reservation was for. At that point which was about an 1 1/2 hours, I said "go ahead and charge it". I just wanted to get out of there! Luckily the Uhaul area manager stopped by to help with the transaction. I ended up getting my truck for the reserved amount after almost 3 hours at the center!! That same day my apartment complex decided to do floor construction near the loading/unloading hall. So they had to close it from 9am till 5pm and they only gave us a 1 day notice. I ended up parking at the metered parking out on the front side of the street at a $1.25/HR rate. I went to the office to borrow a dolly but turned away from the "Sorry but the office will be closed today" notice. We ended up having to borrow a shopping cart from the local Office Depot next to our apartment. Yes, I included their link because they were very freindly and understanding. Anyway, finally finished loading at 6:30PM!! I had to drive back to the Uhaul center to retrieve the Auto Transport for my car. When I arrived the guy at the counter had no idea how to operate or attach the transport to the Uhaul. As I was trying to attach the transport a pedestrian stopped by to help me. He was very nice and without him my car would probably have rolled down to the bottom of the Grapevine. Gave him a 20 spot for his help and I was finally ready to hit the road.......at 8PM!! During the drive, I had to pull over at a rest stop to sleep for a couple hours. Finally made it to Sac about 8AM on Saturday! Man was I pooped!! I never realized how much junk I brought back with me, which is why I am going to have a garage sale this weekend!! I'll keep ya updated and thanks for listening to me rant!!! |
