Weather was really nice today. However, its supposed to rain all of next week... :( Just as predicted, the Governator issues a Drought Executive Order which would put everyone on a "watering schedule". Something that hasn't happened in almost a decade. The latest S&P report regarding the Housing Crisis has come out and lists Las Vegas as the worst housing market in the country. Based on a year-to-year comparison, Las Vegas has dropped 33%! During the month of May I'll be participating in a USTA Tennis tournament hosted by Natomas Racquet Club. In other sports, the Kings have the worst record and are in the running for the Blake Griffin sweepstakes this summer. Baseball opens up this month; although, the recent steroid allegations are hurting the sport. In rec sports, Arnel's Jokers lose in the Semi-finals. TKO are on a 2 game winning streak and are at 2-1. Parkhurst's Deposed Kings end the season at 4-7. Cooley's Rusty Bumpers are 3-3. Check out this spoofed TI video... February 21, 2009
After a couple of weeks of rain we get a hint of Spring. Unfortuneately, it won't last too long. The trade deadline came and went as the Kings gained about 7 new faces on the team. I don't think it'll make a difference this year as they are on their way to the franchise's worst record. They are currently at 12-45. In rec sports, Arnel's Jokers are ranked 3rd and begin playoffs tomorrow. Chris' Deposed Kings have lost the last 2 games and are now 4-6. JP's TKO team edge out WHJury in another close game decided by a last second layup by Lenin. February 2, 2009
STEELERS win their 6th NFL Championship! What a game that was! Next to last year's Super Bowl that game was on the top of my list. Congrats to my team! As for the Kings, they are still at the bottom of the league at 11-39. There are trade rumors going around for Salmons and Miller. Nadal wins the Australian Open against Federer in another great matchup between tennis' 2 greatest athletes. This was Nadal's 6th Grand Slam championship and he's only 22. I'm sure he's going to break whatever record Federer retires with. In other news, Sacramento is on record for another drought this summer as January ended with the lowest rainfall totals in years. As for Groundhog Day, it looks like Spring will arrive early (in 6 weeks). Here are the highlights from Super Bowl XLIII... |
