Almost the end of February. Soon it will be spring and the sun will be out longer. A few things have happened since my last update. New England's perfect season came to an end as the New York Giants come back during the last couple minutes to be crowned Super Bowl champions. The casinos lost about $2.6 million from the game, which is pretty much chump change to them but enough to make somewhat of an impact. The Primaries also began earlier this month. It looks like it will be McCain for the Republican party and a close contest between Obama and Clinton. Here's a valentine's day warning for you: Never purchase your flowers through FTD.com. The customer service is downright horrible and they do not deliver on time like they guarantee on their website! This past weekend Brenda, Tram's BFF, came into town to visit. Unfortunately the weather was pretty ugly so we couldn't do too much outdoors.
In sports: It looks like the Lakers pulled off the trade of the decade as they acquired Pau Gasol for virtually nothing! How stupid is Memphis right now! I hope they continue to be bottom feeders for the next decade. Might as well chalk it up this year for the Lakers vs. Celtics in the finals. Other moves were Shaq to the Suns for Marion, Kidd to the Mavericks, and Bibby to the Hawks. We'll see if any of these trades holds true to their intentions. March Madness is right around the corner and starts March 18. Baseball starts soon but the sport is plagued with bad publicity due to steroids. Not sure if this sport will ever recover from this.
Here's a funny SNL clip featuring Huckabee...
Already February and a leap year at that, so that means an extra day this month! So far the weather this year has been pretty much cold and rainy. Someone told me that it rained a total of 28 days during the month of January! A very interesting stat even though Sacramento definitely needs it. I updated the calendar and also added some pictures from the end of 2007 and a couple from January this year. Congratulations to Lee and Sheree the proud parents of their new baby girl, Mia Lani Chaupette, born on December 21st! I posted some of the pictures on the Picturespage.
In sports, tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday and its the underdog Giants vs. the undefeated Patriots! I really want the Giants to win this one but most of us know whose going to win. In tennis, Federer was ousted in the semi's by Djorkovic! That really surprised me, guess we'll have to see him tie the record at Wimbledon since Nadal will probably win the French Open. In basketball, the Kings are on a 3 game winning streak, their latest victim was the Hornets at home. They're still 3 games behind .500 and 6 games from the #8 spot in the playoffs, but they've been playing great basketball the last 10 games.
Being that its Super Bowl Sunday this weekend, here's a pretty funny clip...
